Negating Top Five Marketing Lists

What I have noticed, is a trend to turn the time tested and proven into a ton of ways to trip you up and break your marketing legs.

The following is my Top Five List To Fail

1. You’re going to reinvent the wheel and claim to be the first to have done some special action that is going to make you rich.

2. You are going to build a site that is not very interesting. A lot of flash and graphics guaranteed to WOW your visitors. Who needs content?

3. You are going to build a site without focus. Tons of choices for every visitor. Cover the spectrum – leave no reason not to capture them all.

4.You believe that people will be so excited to visit that you don’t worry about giving them a reason to.

5. You don’t give them a reason to come back.

Lost in the woods? Every body loves the woods. Loves to find their way through bogs and marshy grasses and stumpy half dried up pools as well as the quiet wonder of tree after tree-laden pathways to nowhere.

Look out for the ‘no where’ paths that scream you are lost. You found your way in enjoyably but now it is getting dark and you are no more closer to finding your way out then that creepy black snake dangling from the tree branch just forward of your head.

My youthful adventures had me pretending I was lost. Hardly so, in the small wooded areas that surrounded my country home. Nevertheless, I stumbled through tall grasses and stepped on logs that slithered away as I ran through woodland marvels that eventually led me to home.

Never once did I look for fire starters. Where were the dried logs that did not slither? Those tall grasses, were they bound to soggy ground? What moss told me direction and did it ever cross my mind to look?

Surfing Ponzis Hurt Everyone

What are we dealing with here? Ponzi Auto surfs like yesteryear or a revival of the snake oil offers that mix up ponzi surf programs and Traffic Exchanges.

I ran across a blog that decried surfing programs and a red flag went up. Straight up! Like Whoa back here sunshine, I use surfing programs and they are NOT scams or ponzis. Though truth be known, I do wonder sometimes just how close some of them do come with the way they choose to suck in newcomers and pay them to stay.

Anyhow, recognizing my own bias, I decided to research this topic and see where it would lead.

The first thing I learned is that there are companies out there that charge you for traffic to your web site. You can even earn by surfing with them. Obviously the ‘smart jerk‘ will make the dollars, you get to earn the cents while your senses are rocked by useless traffic. Can it be targeted?

Weird. I looked at the dates of these posts and they went back to 2005. AutoSurf daze – 12dailypro days – painful times for desperate dreamers. Most were auto surfs – ponzi scams with short life spans thank goodness.

Get this one. I read a post on clixsense. It was one of those lovely programs of questionable value that has survived to this day. What changes have they made to keep the market strong, healthy and legal? Not to be unfair, I have yet to research clixsense so do not take it they were illegal because they ended up a post in a ponzi rah-rah forum.

Are you the kind of thinker who adjusts the legal barometer to size of membership list and forum posts on how often some members have been paid?

Look up AllAdvantage. It launched in March of 1999, grew to 13 million members in a little over a year using the multi-level marketing system of recruiting new members. The strategy capitalized on the notion that anyone could make money on the internet without much effort.

Sound familiar? Shades of yesteryear popping up online today? Remember AllAdvantage had US$175 million in venture capital – paid out over US$160 million to its members- yet after 18 months, even AllAdvantage ceased operations. All Advantage WAS a legal paid to surf. What wasn’t legal were those questionable characters bound to crowd out good companies with scamming and spamming scripts designed to defraud the company.

Well two things have come from my research so far. The people who write about surfing programs need to be exact in what they are talking about. The same goes for me. I do NOT use surfing programs, I own and use Traffic Exchanges which are surfing programs of a legal nature. No way can they be lumped in the multi-level marketing mess of surfing programs out to capture the fast fix wannabe rich types.

This exercise has proven quite interesting. Imagine not knowing the history of a vital piece of the net you hope will one day earn you a nice tidy monthly income? Ignorance is hardly bliss. Nor is wearing blinders to questionable opportunities when it is YOUR hard earned dollar that is at stake.

What I hope this article has done, is open your eyes to the difference between surfing for good advertising results and nickel and diming your way to oblivion.

Easy Street is a Dead End

So thousands of years before the birth of Christ, the
message was clear. There just isn’t an easy street. At least
an easy street that pays off in gold. More like gut ache if

As The Net Spins – Will You Recover?

seen some pretty bad virus and trojan issues hit
our members. Are you at fault for using free or
poorly run security systems? Or is there a shared

FaceBook Losing Control?

This last week has seen FaceBook users realizing
their use of this community is so full of hackers
FaceBook cannot keep on top of your security.

Headlines like this:
“Hacker Sells 1.5 Million Stolen Facebook Accounts
Online” produce a Russian hacker who will sell
your information for a mere $0.25 but he is not
the only one. Kirllos, if telling the truth, would be
in possession of one in 300 FaceBook Users.

FaceBook claims 400 million users thus it is a haven
for scamming and spamming which seems to be
considered normal behavior in the Facebook world.

McAfee Promises WEAK Compensation For Poisoned
Anti-virus Update.

Is anyone safe on the net these days? When one of the
top names in anti-virus security drop depth charges like
this after destroying thousands of computers, it makes
you wonder.

Microsoft Update Causes Infected PCs to Crash
Here is the cause and effect caused by the Alureon
rootkit virus. Earlier this year, a Microsoft issued a
security patch which inadvertently caused PCs
infected with the Alureon rootkit to crash and
experience the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSoD).

Darn people just will not listen about keeping personal
and financial information on their computers.

Users whose machines are infected with the rootkit
are subject to identity theft and credit card fraud,
since the virus is designed to steal information like
user passwords, financial information, and other
data that could allow for remote code execution

The Root kit viruses can be removed. Read and
understand.

How to Fix a Slow Computer

“Why is my computer running so slow?” It is the most
common complaint heard from every computer user
at one time or the other.

It really isn’t rocket science, it’s because you used it.
Taken one step further, it is how you used it that creates
the slow downs. You need to consider computer
cleaning maintenance as part of your security control.

Most of your problems will result from …

Two other key spots you need to get familiar with and use
can be found in C:/Windows/Prefetch – ALL temp files so
safe to empty.
And C:/Windows/temp – again ALL temp files so safe to empty.

You will need to invest in the proper cleaning tools to help you
stay ahead of computer slow down. Be very careful to investigate
any cleaner BEFORE you use them. And ALWAYS back up your
system FIRST before running a new cleaner.

1. They all do specific jobs only
2. The require some time setting them up.
3. Back up your system BEFORE you run any tool.
4. Make double sure the tools of your choice will work on your
computer in respect to your Operating System [OS] vs. your
computer type. Mac, PC or just a plain old iron horse that has
about seen its day.

How to Fix a Slow Computer

Every OS has a System Tools area. At the very least, you should
be using parts of it like disc cleanup. It will help you keep the
most common temp files at bay.

One tip most users forget about. Have you ‘lied‘ to your computer
making it think it is more advanced or faster than it really is?
This action can also slow down you computer when you need speed.

And of course the oldie but goldie – RAM! Not enough can result
in everything from slow ups to freeze ups to the good old blue
screen of death.

Last but not least – your ISP. If you are on dial up, move up or live
with it. Other things can be ISP repairs, poor service, to many
other issues you need to stay on top of. Not all ISP services are
created equal.
